Editing a book, plus guinea pig pictures
I remain woefully underemployed, and the picture looks bleak unless I manage to improve my network. I am becoming more sure than before that having some of my crowning career achievements attached to dates that begin “19xx” is not helping. I’ve been plenty busy in this century, but the career story doesn’t make a lot of sense without the blazing glory at the beginning.
I left ex-Twitter behind a year ago, and limit my dabbles into Facebook & LinkedIn to the bare minimum needed to not completely lose track of people. To fill a bit of the void, I’ve moved onto Bluesky, posting at the moment as the “Increasingly Invisible Older Woman”. It’s a smaller place, without as much of a breaking-news firehose, but at least it’s easier not to engage with fascists!
I’m spending part of today editing a book of short stories. It doesn’t pay much at all - I know what my author can afford - but at least it’s fun! I can almost always find the time to copyedit and proofread a bit of rollicking adventure fiction.
And, as promised, guinea pig pictures:
